Letter FROM the Editor, to members of the Rare Cancer Network.

Dear Colleagues,

I would like to draw your attention to the journal Rare Tumors, when you consider publication of studies and case reports in the field of rare cancers and benign neoplasms. Rare Tumors is an online, open access, peer-reviewed journal focused on the study of rare tumors. The journal's editorial policy was directly inspired by the past work of the Rare Cancer Network. You will see the content of Volume One at this link: http://www.pagepress.org/journals/index.php/rt/index

Since the launch of the journal earlier this year, we have received 115 manuscript submissions, of which 72% of those reviewed to date have been accepted for publication. The average time for completion of peer review is 35 days.

We will soon be launching a series of invited commentaries on the "problem" of studying rare tumors in an era of evidence-baased medical research. If you are interested in writing on this topic, please contact me directly for more details.
